Hello Jerry:
Thank you for the writeup. We are very encouraged by the response we have gotten. Both Prem and I are fortunate to have little bit of an enterprise network of our own to reach out to for continuous validation and feedback.
What we are discovering is, something we had anticipated, that concepts of bookmarking and tagging will take a shape of their own inside the enterprise. How they eventually end up manifesting themselves, I think remains to be seen...but we are starting to get some good visibility into that based on some of our discussions.
Some of the outcomes being talked about are facinating.

Thanks Niall and good luck with your beta. There is the "grassroots" approach to getting new software behind the firewall--a lot of people use and like an application and champion its adoption as an enterprise standard. And if you can get the buzz going in small businesses and professional service firms that are not as actively policed by the software gestapo, the big guys may eventually come round.

Jerry,

As the founder of another 'enterprise bookmarking' system, I'm not sure I agree with your last statement.

I don't think it's about convincing CIOs and CEOs in 'old' terms - it's more about showing how these less controlled, unstructured software tools can do the things that their big enterprise systems can't: get people sharing and connecting with each other. Some sectors (e.g. professional services) will understand this quicker than others, that's for sure.

I do agree, however, that the biggest challenges are cultural, but that has always been the way with enterprise systems.

By the way, we're about to enter private beta. If you (or any of your readers for that matter) would like to apply for an account, just drop me a line at niall@tiggi.com.
